PRESS RELEASE: Double Silver Awards for Sysdoc at Brandon Hall
Now entering its 23rd year, the Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards Program is the world’s most significant learning awards programme and is known as “the Academy Awards of learning, talent and business executives”. The awards attract entries from around the globe including internationally recognised brands, including General Motors, Bank of America, Boeing, Pfizer, and Royal Dutch Shell.
In the UK, the silver award in the Best Learning Program Supporting a Change Transformation Business Strategy category, is for JLR’s Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) eEnablement programme.
JLR embarked on a digital transformation programme to significantly improve the way engineers work with suppliers. This involved transformation from a legacy system managed through spreadsheets and multiple offline dependencies to an online, digital and mobile solution.
Sysdoc, as the solution partner, collaborated with JLR to provide an integrated change and training programme, which involved supporting the future of work through:
- Applying simple, effective learning methods that replicated the use of mobile devices in a high risk work environment.
- Providing a highly stimulating learning environment that closely complemented the themes of the digital transformation undertaken.
- Creating and delivering a sustainable global learning program.
Sysdoc’s Head of Learning Innovation, Andrew Darwin, said “We are very proud of what we have achieved through our partnership with JLR and to have this recognised at an international level. This award celebrates JLR's commitment to investing in its people and adopting modern, innovative methods to implement game changing digital transformation programs across the organisation.”

Sysdoc in New Zealand was also awarded silver for Best Learning Team for our insource training team at Fonterra, which provides an agile, high quality and seamless service as well as access to the newest innovations in learning.
“This award is a remarkable achievement that cannot be understated and is a testament to the skills and dedication our small 17-member team,” says Charmaine Taylor, Learning Solutions Manager, Fonterra Cooperative Group Ltd.
Peter Auckram, Team Lead for Sysdoc at Fonterra, says the award recognises the joint team is “at the top of the game”.
Auckram said, “Our strategy is to keep on top of the technological and latest learning methodologies curve through attendance at conferences and investment in R&D and to ensure that everything we do makes a measurable difference to Fonterra.”
Winning a Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award means an organisation is an elite innovator within Human Capital Management (HCM),” says said Rachel Cooke, Chief Operating Officer of Brandon Hall Group and head of the awards program. “An award signifies that an organisation’s work represents a leading practice in that HCM function and the achievement is also notable because of the positive impact their work in HCM has on business results. All award winners have to demonstrate a measurable benefit to the business, not just the HCM operation.”
The awards ceremony will be held at the Brandon Hall Human Capital Management Excellence Conference in Florida in January 2018.

Why ‘the first rule of fight club’ doesn’t exist for designers at Sysdoc…
In the past, the curtains have always been firmly closed when trying to gaze through agency windows to understand how design teams work and collaborate on projects. A company’s creative processes remained a mystery and the unspoken rule that employees were not to share the ‘fight club’ secret rang true. At Sysdoc we’ve pulled down the curtain rail, opened the windows and are actively sharing our approach with everyone we know and quite frankly, anybody who’s interested. We’ve been refining our ways of working for many years. Whilst we acknowledge our design process will continue to grow and develop organically, we’re confident that our tried and tested methodologies will continue to add great value to our clients.
