Two Gold and Two Silver Awards for our work with Fonterra

Gold for Best Online Learning Model and Silver for Workplace Health & Safety

Sysdoc won the 2017 LearnX GOLD award for Best Online Learning Model and SILVER award for Workplace Health & Safety with Fonterra Safe Works Systems.

The potential impact of an adverse event is managed under the Safe Work Systems program at Fonterra. The Safe Works Systems refresher learning module is an interactive video project that reflects the real working environment emphasising practices required and the behaviours expected on site. The module  includes specialised content, national legislation, company standards, and requires learners to make real decisions with consequences in their everyday environment.

Safe Works Systems will provide visibility, standardised training communication and delivery, an improved education model and minimization of workplace time delays. A secondary benefit from the module has resulted from the use of xAPI and resulting data outputs. Fonterra can now leverage data to validate workforce capabilities, minimise knowledge gaps and informed content updates.

Gold for Best eLearning Design

Sysdoc won the 2017 LearnX GOLD award for Best eLearning Design with Fonterra The Way We Work Hotline.

The Way We Work Hotline Investigation eLearning covers the independent, confidential service for Fonterra employees to report internal issues like theft, fraud, corruption, harassment, misconduct or unethical behavior. The course explains the fundamental principles that investigators must adhere to, and the techniques they must use.

The module was developed in a film noir style that made the course stand out, and the humour incorporated by our Instructional Designer helped deliver a serious topic in a light-hearted manner. Using Articulate Storyline 2 assets, combined with Adobe Illustrator graphics and supplemented by Adobe Flash animations, this module is an engaging, visually appealing experience for all users.

Silver for Workplace Health & Safety

Sysdoc won the 2017 LearnX SILVER Workplace Health & Safety award with Fonterra Contractor Induction.

All New Zealand contractors operating at a Fonterra site are required to complete a Health and Safety induction prior to starting any onsite work, and all existing contractors must complete the training annually to retain their credentials to work at Fonterra sites.

Sysdoc Learning Specialists worked with Fonterra to develop an easy-to-use online training course that provided the following benefits. An engaging, consistent and repeatable method of delivering content to contractors 24/7, segmentation of contractor induction topics for improved visibility of contractor certification and further learning requirements,  and supporting Fonterra’s ambition to ensure employees and contractors are healthy, live with balance, and go home safely every day, everywhere.

Sysdoc’s updates to Fonterra’s Contractor Induction modules have highlighted the cost saving benefits of eLearning modules when applied to training requirements with high user numbers. Contractor Induction has resulted in significant cost savings, with the H&S module alone resulting in a 78.5% cost reduction per user after one year.

Silver for Best eLearning Simulation with NZ Defence Force

Sysdoc won the 2017 LearnX SILVER award for Best eLearning Simulation with New Zealand Defence Force.

Sysdoc worked with The New Zealand Defence Force to develop a user-focused digital solution. This included NZDF-based video scenarios, interactive simulations overlaid onto live SharePoint and an objective-driven user interface. The solution supported the Defence Document Management System (DDMS), an organisation-wide SharePoint based solution to change the information culture of the NZDF from need to know, to need to share.

Sysdoc developed a training solution suitable for a technologically diverse audience of approximately 10,000. The solution provided consistent messaging on the cultural shift towards information sharing through engaging content, user accessibility, learner progress metrics, security requirements, longevity and allowances for future system enhancements
